Summary
Several PIWI wines, which were made from fungus-resistant grape varieties such as Hibernal, Regent, Solaris, and Cabernet Blanc, were among the winners at the 13th "SAKURA" Japan Women’s Wine Awards 2026. The competition had 3,715 entries from 37 countries, judged by 430 women. There were 274 Double Golds, 1,272 Golds, and 714 Silvers.
Double Gold Winners
Three PIWI wines received Double Gold medals. One of these, BV Vinarstvi A.S. Hibernal 2023, C.S. 2348 Czech Republic, also received the Diamond Trophy. The other Double Gold winners are:
